Camp Fresh Tents Stay White

They've used a lot of white in Serian, which has a whimsical effect. Safari people don't normally like using a lot of white - it shows dust and dirty so easily, but this camp looked clean and cool and fresh. The tents are great for hot weather, with all four sides that can be opened and raised right up, allowing you to catch any small breath of wind - and have the most wonderful afternoon al fresco siestas.

Everything is very prettily designed and simply but stylishly done. The bathrooms, which stand to the edge of the tents also have fantastic views over the river and consciously so. There are many idiosyncratic little extras that make it clear that one person, rather than an organization, has designed camp - like the little bed tucked in a nook by the sofa - in case small children want to stay up while their parents stay late by the fire.

As you walk into camp, there's a raised timber deck shaded by a spreading elephant pepper tree where most of the eating is done, and the food is good and fresh and crisp.
