A few years ago, Kenya Wildlife Service estimated that as much as 50 percent of wildlife in Kenya lives outside its national parks. The term National Park only refers to a small number of Kenya's protected wild spaces, so it's a little misleading. The Maasai Mara for example isn't a park, but it is Kenya's best known (and best) wildlife area.

Semantics aside, Kenya does offer wonderful contrast in its game viewing. In the south, the Maasai Mara or The Chyulu Hills are definitive East Africa, but head north to Laikipia Plateau or Shaba and you start to find a distinctly North African flavour, with desert adapted northern species. And don't make the mistake of believing you have to sit in a queue of minibuses in Kenya's National Parks and Reserves - you could do, but in the right places with the right people, you won't. This is why Kenya is so much about detail.

At Natural High, we've all lived and worked in Africa, so our knowledge is born of hands-on experience rather than simply visiting on holiday. We can't over-stress how worthwhile it is to take a few minutes to call us. We're not in the business of churning out thousands of packages so if you'd like to discuss things in detail, take a few minutes and call Catherine, Vanessa or Alex on +44 (0)1747 898104.
