It's quite likely that you won't have any reason to spend more than a few hours in Nairobi and the city's reputation means that many people have little desire to stay here any longer than they have to.

Do you need some help with this?Call +44 (0)1747 898104
At Natural High, we've all lived and worked in Africa, so our knowledge is born of hands-on experience rather than simply visiting on holiday. We can't over-stress how worthwhile it is to take a few minutes to call us. We're not in the business of churning out thousands of packages so if you'd like to discuss things in detail, take a few minutes and call Fiona, Catherine, Vanessa, Alex on +44 (0)1747 898104.

In reality, whether you end up staying in Nairobi because of flight timings, or because you choose to break your journey, it's well worth opening your eyes to the spectacle that is modern Nairobi and there is plenty to recommend it for a short visit. Nairobi is a colourful, messy, noisy city, which is, above all, quite unlike what we in the west have come to expect cities to be about. Consequently there is something mesmerising in the chaotic sprawl of the place; Maasai cattle mix with pickups staggering under truly massive loads. Stalls selling fruit and vegetables line the streets and there's evidence of myriad small business activities at every junction - basket weaving, lawnmower servicing, log deliveries. This is people watching on a grand scale.

Of course your stay here gets you away from the mayhem and there are a number of very good small hotels which are well worth visiting in their own right. For more information on where are the best places to stay in Nairobi have a look at where to stay in Nairobi.
