Like sailing anywhere, Dhow Sailing on the Kenyan coast is all about the pleasure of travelling without the accompanying noise and smell of an engine. The East African coast is still plied by traditional dhows of many different shapes and sizes, so there are quite a few places where you can take to the water, either to go diving, or simply for the sake of sailing. You may be able to arrange trips with local boats, but for real style, you need to head to Manda Bay where you'll find Utamaduni, their 60 ft sailing dhow, pictured here.
